We're thrilled to announce that Brisbane Roar has secured the signing of Lebanese international midfielder, Walid Shour, for a two-year deal ahead of the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
This signing is a significant boost for the team, as Shour's experience and skills will bring valuable depth to the squad.

Shour's Impressive Career So Far

Standing at 6 feet 1 inch, Shour is a defensive midfielder with an exceptional ability to control the tempo of the game. At just 27 years old, he has already made 27 appearances for Lebanon, showcasing his international experience. Shour was integral to Lebanon's performance during the 2023 Asian Cup, playing in all three of his team's group-stage matches. He also represented his country in both World Cup qualifiers against Australia in March of this year, cementing his place as one of Lebanon's top football talents.

A Strong Foundation with Al Ahed

Before making the move to Brisbane Roar, Shour played for the Lebanese Premier League champions, Al Ahed. He was an important figure in the team, helping them secure the title and contributing to their impressive run in the 2024 AFC Cup. Shour's time with Al Ahed has provided him with crucial experience at the highest levels of club football, and we're excited to see how he brings that expertise to Brisbane Roar.

After just one conversation with the coach and football director, We felt an immediate sense of belonging. It was clear to us that this was where We wanted to be.”

As Shour prepares for the 2024/25 season, he has set clear goals for his time with Brisbane Roar. “Our goals for the upcoming season are to help the team compete for the league title and ideally secure some trophies for Brisbane Roar,” he said. Shour is the sixth new arrival at Brisbane Roar ahead of the upcoming A-League season.
